Psychiatric day-care hospital in Kaiserslautern
The Kaiserslautern day-care hospital of the Pfalzklinikum offers 20 spaces.
The psychiatric day-care hospital is a day-care facility for mentally ill people aged 18 or above. Treatment takes place during the day only. The patients spend the evening, the night and the weekend at home in their familiar surroundings. Thus, we ensure an intense therapeutic support while allowing to maintain family ties and friendships.
Who can be treated in the day-care hospital?
The treatment services offered at the day-care hospital are suitable for a wide range of mental diseases for which an outpatient treatment is not sufficient whereas an inpatient treatment is not – or no longer – required.
Important for the treatment is a regular housing situation and the possibility to independently cover the distance between hospital and residence. Furthermore, patients should be willing to deal with their emotional problems and try to solve them in a therapeutic process.
At the day-care hospital we do not offer treatment for people with age-related mental diseases, for persons who are primarily addicts and for acutely suicidal persons. We are, however, glad to assist you in finding a space in a suitable facility.
