The “Pfalzinstitut”

Hospital for Child and Youth Psychiatry, Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy of the “Pfalzklinikum”

The "Pfalzinstitut", the Palatinate Institute, supplies the southern part of Rhineland-Palatinate with 60 inpatient treatment places and an own psychiatric outpatient department in Klingenmünster. On October 2, 2006, our day-care hospital for Child and Youth Psychiatry in Kaiserslautern and on January 11, 2011, our day-care hospital for Child an Youth Psychiatry in Pirmasens with 20 places and an integrated psychiatric outpatient department was opened.

In our behaviour-therapeutically oriented hospital, we treat the complete range of psychiatric diseases in children and youth.

The inpatient area is subdivided in:

  • a child’s hospital with groups for small children and school children
  • a youth hospital
    • with a psychiatric department
    • with a psychotherapeutic–psychosomatic department
    • and with a social therapeutic-forensic department.

With its inpatient, day-care and outpatient facilities the "Pfalzinstitut" makes distinctions that meet the high demands put on a state-of-the-art medical specialist institution.

Children and adolescents between 4 and 18 years can be admitted.

The patients have the possibility to attend the hospital school or an external school.
