Nowadays, the work of the fire brigade is based on the federal state law for fire safety, general help and emergency management. The company fire brigade cooperate closely with local fire brigades: If requested, they take part in fire extinguishing and rescue actions in neighbouring villages or ask for help themselves. Before the fire fighters go into action the first time, they undergo a thorough training and in their leisure time they continuously take part in further training measures.
The oldest company fire brigade in Rhineland-Palatinate disposes of modern premises and technology. In summer 2006, they moved into the newly built logistics centre. There, both the operations centre and the new vehicle hall are situated. Technical equipment includes, for example, a turntable ladder, a group fire-fighting vehicle, a small fire-fighting vehicle, a command vehicle as well as an entirely computer-assisted operations centre.
Each year, the company fire brigade respond to fire and rescue emergencies about 70 times.
The central emergency service at the hospital location Klingenmünster ensures that around-the-clock there are enough fire fighters present to immediately provide assistance in case of an emergency.
